So it has become a big target for malicious programs or just annoying, like extensions that change your browser without authorization. However, the tech giant Google is doing something about it. As the Google Chrome for Windows has just received three changes to help users recover from software infections. Some extensions may change your settings – like the default search engine – without your consent. When the browser detects this, it displays a dialog box suggesting that you can reverse the change:-
“Over the past month, this feature has helped millions of people reverse unwanted settings,” as the tech giant Google writes. You can also reset your profile settings in “chrome://settings/resetProfileSettings“. What about programs (rather than extensions) that change Chrome’s behavior by displaying unwanted pop-ups and ads? The Windows version can detect this:-
It removes the software, disables extensions, and resets some settings to the default. Depending on the situation, and simply you will have to restart your computer.
How does the tech giant Google’s Chrome browser detect malicious software?
Well, the Windows version has a tool developed in partnership with ESET, a well-known security company which is known for its antivirus. “We can now detect and remove more unwanted software than ever before,” as the tech giant Google says. Not only that even the company also explains, however, that this feature does not replace a complete antivirus. The social network giant Facebook also has a similar initiative. A few years ago, the social network giant Facebook also started to recommend tools free of charge to F-Secure and Trend Micro when it detects signs of malware in a profile – strange links or spam messages.
