iPhone XC, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Plus?
An “information leak” with few details, which was published in Weibo recently, and was intended to show a slide of a presentation that China Mobile was presenting internally. China Mobile, one of the largest operators linked to the iPhone in the world, claims that the 6.1-inch model is called the ‘iPhone Xc’ and the new 6.5-inch, the top-of-the-line phone is the ‘iPhone Xs Plus’. It also raises some more details on prices and availability.
The leaks in the past have confirmed many “truths” and obviously, it is possible that slide platforms like this one are manipulated or manufactured intentionally. Some other information revealed as “possibly right” confirmed the main series of the new line, the iPhone Xs. For the larger phone, some terms were served, it is said that the tech giant Apple considered the name “iPhone Xs Max“, but this report suggests differently.
This presentation says that the name of the 6.5-inch model is the iPhone Xs Plus. The cheaper phone name of 6.1 inches has been more obscure. Several names circulated including ‘Xr‘, ‘Xc‘ and others. This supposed ‘leak’ says the name is iPhone Xc. Given that the 6.1-inch iPhone will be released in various color options, the C suffix would be sensible. It is never guaranteed that the tech giant Apple’s appointment will follow the logic. The slide also says that the iPhone XS series is geared towards dual-SIM variants, although it would appear that the SKUs would be released after the initial launch date, expected for September 21.
What about the price?
This image also adds more information regarding the price of the equipment. According to the pictures, the iPhone XC will be marketed at the price of 5888 yuan, the iPhone XS at 7388 yuan and the iPhone XS Plus at 8388 yuan. Chinese prices include 17% sales tax. While the current iPhone X of 5.8 inches is sold at 8316 yuan. Using these rates, this information leak tells us that we can expect iPhone XC prices to start at around $700, which comes to the fore, assuming the $699 which is the price of the iPhone 8 on the current line. The new 5.8-inch iPhone Xs would cost around $900, and the iPhone Xs Plus (if it’s called) will appear at $1000. These would be the prices of the basic models with 64GB storage. The Xc will be offered in 64GB or 256GB configurations, and Xs models will be available in the variant of up to 512GB storage according to the latest reports. Presumably, dual-SIM variants would come at an additional cost. So, what do you think about this? Simply share all your views and thoughts in the comment section below.
